“Red is the first colour of spring. It’s the real colour of rebirth. Of beginning.” IMG-20160610-WA0005 (1) IMG-20160610-WA0007 IMG-20160610-WA0016 IMG-20160610-WA0019Andie Condie

As Andie Condie said, Colour “Red” symbolizes new beginning. It not only symbolizes spring or rebirth, it also symbolizes love, energy and life force. In every culture red has a place. It can be called a colour of magic. It is the favourite colour of many young and old alike. In many Asian countries, it is considered the colour of luck.

To teach about the symbolism and importance of the colour “Red” to our Kindergarten children, Red Day was celebrated on 10th June, 2016, Friday in our Mindlabs Academy campus. Our Kindergarten students were asked to dress in red colour on that day. Our teachers also joined the celebration by wearing red coloured dress to school. The classrooms were decorated with red coloured strawberry pictures and other red coloured picture. Students were asked to bring different red coloured things like apple, tomatoes, pomegranate, strawberry, etc. The Kindergarten teachers had arranged for a Red Party and the rhymes were sung by the teachers and the students about different red things. The teachers spoke about the colour red. Finally, the students were given treat of chocolates, red coloured cake, ice-cream and red coloured jelly. The Kindergarten teacher had brought in, a red coloured Dragon toy, and a few words were spoken how red colour takes an important place in Chinese culture. Learning becomes fun when it is imparted the right way!

“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice”, said Anton Chekhov. Mindlabs teachers make sure the students put the gained knowledge into practice through various activities right from the beginning of their education.
