Educational fieldtrip to Zoo Negara

Zoo

Field trips in schools can make learning more effective, as students gain extensive knowledge on various subjects, and also get hands-on experience rather than classroom reading or experience. It also kindles curiosity and interests in students, which in turn, develops a positive attitude towards education. The student-student and student-teacher interaction is increased and such kind of trips turn into an enjoyable learning experience

ZooWe, at Mindlabs, give our students such an experiential and real-life learning experience. Our students from grade 1 to grade 5 were taken on a field trip to Zoo Negara, Malaysia last week. It was a meaningful and memorable experience for our students compared to our regular classroom instructional programme. The students learnt about various animal and plant species. It was a bonding period for all of us. The students got a chance to intermingle with their peer groups as well as with their teachers.

The animal show that the students observed for about an hour and half spent at the “Panda House” watching the mother and the baby panda move and interact with each other was the most interesting part of the trip, which the students enjoyed. At the “Panda House”, the students saw how the mother panda taught its baby panda to swim. The baby panda was very reluctant to get into the water, but, the mother panda pushed the baby panda into the water. Such, experiences provide students the required interaction among themselves and bond with their babies.

This extra-campus activity proved to be a motivational incentive for the students.
